Step-by-step rooftop tent mounting, opening, and pack-down instructions

Whether you're setting up for a weekend coastal escape or heading deep into the bush, getting your rooftop tent mounted and deployed correctly makes all the difference. This guide walks through the full installation process, how to open your RTT safely, and how to pack it down properly before hitting the road again.

Mounting Your Rooftop Tent

1. Place the rooftop tent onto the roof racks or crossbars. Center the tent and align the mounting channels perpendicular to the racks. Slide the mounting bolts and sliders into position at all four corners.

2. Secure all eight bolts using the supplied star knobs and tighten firmly.

3. Insert the channel end caps into the mounting channels once the tent is positioned correctly.

Opening Your RTT

4. Unlock the hard shell and carefully lift the roof.

5. Hook the telescopic ladder onto the tent anchor points.

6. Undo the Velcro strap and fully extend the ladder before climbing.

Closing Your RTT

7. Pull down the shell strap to lower the hard shell.

8. Tuck excess tent fabric neatly into the shell from all sides. Retract the ladder carefully and keep hands clear of the ladder rungs.

9. Securely lock the rooftop tent before driving.
